Welcome to the Chicago Area Writing Project

The Chicago Area Writing Project (CAWP), based at Roosevelt University, is an organization of, by, and for teachers of all grade levels dedicated to improving the instruction of writing and the use of reading and writing in the content areas. An affiliate of the National Writing Project, CAWP sponsors a variety of programs on the Roosevelt University Campus as well as in Chicago area schools.

CAWP Invitational Summer Institutes in Writing
Outstanding veteran teachers who are interested in teacher leadership and joining our exciting CAWP professional network are encouraged to apply to one of our two Summer Institutes in which they will learn current theory and instructional practices in reading and writing and learn to design and give presentations for other teachers. Come and visit the Download Forms page for application to the 2007 Summer Institute in a couple of months.
